In a powerful and emotional tribute, Amy Lee, the powerhouse vocalist and co-founder of Grammy-winning rock band Evanescence, has been honored with a life-size bronze statue in her hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas. The unveiling ceremony, held on Saturday at Riverfront Park, drew fans from across the country and around the world, marking a historic moment not only for the acclaimed singer-songwriter but also for the city that helped shape her.
The statue is a stunning artistic tribute to Amy’s decades of influence in rock, metal, and symphonic music, and a celebration of her impact as a female pioneer in a genre often dominated by male voices.
A Statue Worthy of a Voice That Shook the World
Standing over seven feet tall on a stone pedestal, the statue captures Amy Lee in an iconic pose — head lifted slightly, eyes closed, hands gripping a microphone mid-performance, flowing skirt captured in mid-motion. The sculpture, titled “My Immortal Voice,” was created by Arkansas-based artist Melissa Rowland, who worked closely with Amy throughout the creative process.
“I wanted it to feel like a moment frozen in time,” Rowland said. “Amy is more than a musician — she’s a force. This piece had to reflect that strength, beauty, and vulnerability all at once.”
The pedestal is engraved with the words “Sing to me your lullaby of pain and grace,” a line inspired by lyrics from Evanescence’s acclaimed 2003 debut album Fallen, which catapulted Amy and her band to international stardom.

Appearing overwhelmed yet deeply moved, Amy Lee, now 43, took the stage in front of a roaring crowd of fans, friends, and family to thank her hometown for the enduring love and recognition.
“I’ve stood on some of the biggest stages in the world,” she said, tears in her eyes, “but nothing compares to being honored here — in the place that raised me, inspired me, and grounded me.”
She continued: “I used to walk these streets as a teenager with headphones on, dreaming of something bigger. I never thought I’d come back one day and see myself in bronze. I hope this statue doesn’t just honor me, but every dreamer in this city who feels a little different and dares to be loud about it.”
Lee also took a moment to recognize her late younger sister, who inspired the heartbreaking ballad “Hello”, and thanked her family for supporting her creative journey from an early age.
A Legacy Carved in Stone — and Song
Amy Lee first rose to prominence with Evanescence in the early 2000s, when the band’s debut single “Bring Me to Life” became a global anthem. With haunting piano melodies, powerful vocals, and gothic imagery, Lee helped redefine what female-led rock could sound like — bringing classical training and raw emotion into a heavy music scene.

“I flew here from Brazil just to be part of this,” said 27-year-old fan Daniela Ruiz. “Amy’s music saved me when I was at my lowest. She gave me a voice when I felt voiceless.”
Local teenager Sarah Whitmore, attending with her parents, said, “Seeing a woman from here make it that far — it makes me feel like maybe I can do something great too.”
A Monument for the Future
The statue is part of a larger initiative called Hometown Voices, a public arts program celebrating Arkansas-born artists who have made a global impact. Amy Lee’s is the first statue in the series to honor a living woman and a rock musician, a move celebrated by local leaders and cultural institutions.
“She broke barriers and gave this town international recognition,” said Mayor Frank Scott Jr. “Amy Lee is not just a rock star — she’s a trailblazer, a symbol of creative power, and a role model for generations to come.”
To commemorate the unveiling, a new mural and interactive display were also opened nearby, showcasing Amy’s discography, handwritten lyrics, and career milestones.
Moving Forward, Staying Grounded
Although Evanescence continues to tour and produce new music, Lee has expressed a growing desire to mentor emerging artists and explore multimedia creative projects.
“This statue isn’t the end of a journey,” she said during the closing remarks. “It’s a reminder of where it all began — and a promise that I’m not done creating yet.”
As night fell on Little Rock, fans continued to gather around the statue — singing softly the chorus of My Immortal, lighting candles, and taking photos with a monument that now stands as a permanent symbol of one woman’s extraordinary voice, spirit, and legacy.
The “My Immortal Voice” statue is now open to the public at Riverfront Park in Little Rock, Arkansas. Admission is free. A special commemorative exhibit will run throughout the summer at the Arkansas Museum of Art.
