Red Hot Chili Peppers Bid the World Farewell: Netflix Confirms Final Tour for 2026 — Dates and Cities Revealed
After more than four decades of redefining rock music with funk, fire, and fearless creativity, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced their final world tour, officially marking the end of an era. The legendary band — Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith, and John Frusciante — will take the stage one last time in 2026, with Netflix set to document the farewell journey in an exclusive multi-part series titled “Forever Red: The Last Ride.”
The announcement, made jointly by the band and Netflix, confirms that this will be the Chili Peppers’ last global tour, closing out a career that shaped the sound of modern rock and inspired generations of artists and fans around the world.
A Band That Changed Everything
Formed in Los Angeles in 1983, the Red Hot Chili Peppers fused punk, funk, and psychedelic rock into something no one had heard before. Their sound — raw, rhythmic, and endlessly experimental — made them one of the defining bands of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
From their early breakout “Mother’s Milk” to the era-defining “Blood Sugar Sex Magik” and the emotional masterpiece “Californication,” RHCP consistently delivered music that was both personal and universal.
Their ability to evolve while staying true to their essence helped them earn six Grammy Awards, sell over 120 million records worldwide, and influence countless artists across genres.
️ “It’s Been the Ride of Our Lives”
In a heartfelt statement shared to social media, Anthony Kiedis reflected on the band’s decision to call it a day.
“We’ve lived the dream longer than anyone could imagine. The road, the music, the brotherhood — it’s been everything. This tour is our love letter to the fans who’ve carried us all these years.”
Flea, ever the energetic spirit, added,
“We’re not saying goodbye to the music — it’s in our DNA. But this will be the last time we take this wild circus around the world. We want it to be a celebration.”
Guitarist John Frusciante, who returned to the band in 2019, described the farewell tour as “a chance to reconnect one more time — with the songs, with each other, and with everyone who’s been part of the journey.”

Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville, the series promises a raw, emotional, and unfiltered look into the band’s creative process, their brotherhood, and the emotional weight of their final bow.
According to Netflix, fans can expect never-before-seen rehearsal footage, candid moments from the road, and interviews spanning the band’s entire career — from their chaotic beginnings in Hollywood’s underground clubs to their sold-out stadiums around the world.
“RHCP are more than a band — they’re a cultural heartbeat,” said Netflix’s head of music programming, Sandra Hsu. “Their farewell deserves to be documented with the honesty and wild spirit that defines them.”
❤️ Fans React to the Farewell
As expected, fans flooded social media with emotion. Within minutes of the announcement, #ThankYouRHCP became the top trending hashtag on X (formerly Twitter).
One fan wrote:
“They taught us to feel everything — pain, joy, love, loss — and dance through it all. The Chili Peppers aren’t just music. They’re family.”
Musicians like Dave Grohl, Billie Eilish, and Post Malone also paid tribute, calling the band “a generation’s heartbeat” and “proof that rock never dies.”
The Music Lives On
Though this marks the end of touring, the Red Hot Chili Peppers confirmed they’re not done creating. The group revealed plans to release one final studio album in early 2026 — a record Flea described as “our goodbye letter to the universe.”
“It’s the closing chapter,” Kiedis added, “but the love between us and our fans — that doesn’t fade. Ever.”

The Netflix documentary “Forever Red: The Last Ride” will premiere in late 2026.
