Kelly Osbourne Slams ‘Rude’ Claim That Dad Ozzy Osbourne Is ‘Dying’

By Donald Don | July 15, 2025

Kelly Osbourne has had enough. The daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne is pushing back hard against renewed speculation that her father is on death’s door, calling recent tabloid headlines “disgusting, heartless, and flat-out false.”

The outspoken television personality and musician took to social media and gave a fiery interview earlier this week, denouncing what she described as “cruel sensationalism” over her father’s health. The latest wave of rumors suggested Ozzy, 76, was nearing the end of his life after years of battling Parkinson’s disease, spinal surgeries, and a host of other medical complications.

“Let me make this very clear,” Kelly said in a video posted to her Instagram stories. “My dad is not dying. He’s not on his last breath. He’s not being ‘prepared for the end,’ and anyone who says otherwise is being rude, irresponsible, and spreading lies for clicks. Shame on you.”

“He’s Fighting — and He’s Winning”

The rumors were sparked by a misleading headline published by a UK tabloid last week, accompanied by photos of Ozzy being assisted while walking with a cane after a therapy session. The article claimed the singer looked “frail” and suggested that his “time might be short.”

But Kelly says the story was completely manufactured and failed to consider the full truth.

“Anyone who actually knows my dad knows how much of a fighter he is,” she said. “Yes, he has good days and bad days — that’s life. He’s been through hell and back. But every single day, he wakes up, cracks a joke, and works hard at his rehab. He’s not giving up.”

Kelly went on to describe how her father recently started walking again with the help of a new exoskeleton-assisted device and is in the middle of recording voiceovers for an upcoming documentary project.

A Legacy Too Strong to Be Buried in Rumors

Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath and a solo metal icon, has had a rollercoaster journey with his health since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2020. He’s undergone multiple spinal surgeries, suffered a fall that aggravated old injuries, and has publicly discussed his struggle with chronic pain and mobility issues.

Despite these setbacks, he has continued to appear in public, release music, and make surprise cameos at events — including his recent appearance at the Back to the Beginning Black Sabbath reunion show at Birmingham’s Villa Park earlier this month, where he waved to tens of thousands of fans from a custom-designed throne.

“He sat down, sure,” Kelly said, “but he showed up. He always shows up. That’s more than I can say for the people sitting behind keyboards making up this garbage.”

Family Standing Strong

Kelly is not alone in defending Ozzy. Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife of over 40 years, also issued a statement blasting what she described as a “culture of vulture journalism.”

“Some of these so-called news outlets are practically circling with body bags. It’s sick,” Sharon said during an appearance on The Talk UK. “Ozzy has good days, Ozzy has hard days. He is still here, and he is still my husband. That’s the truth.”

Jack Osbourne, Kelly’s brother, shared a more lighthearted reaction. Posting a picture of Ozzy flipping the middle finger, Jack captioned it, “Still got fight in him. And fingers that work just fine.”

The Toll of Public Scrutiny

Kelly’s frustration speaks to a broader issue that many celebrities and their families face when dealing with chronic illness in the public eye. The constant speculation, invasive photography, and misrepresentation can turn health challenges into tabloid fodder.

“People forget — we’re not just a rock family,” Kelly said. “We’re a real family. And watching someone you love go through something hard is already painful. Then to have strangers turn it into a circus for entertainment? That’s trauma on top of trauma.”

She added that the public needs to learn the difference between honest reporting and callous exploitation. “If you care about my dad, wish him well. Support the music. Support the man. Don’t turn his battle into a countdown clock.”

What’s Next for the Prince of Darkness?

Despite the swirling rumors, Ozzy Osbourne has continued making plans. A close source revealed he’s working on a follow-up to his 2022 album Patient Number 9, and that he’s interested in doing limited public appearances — including art-related collaborations and charity work tied to animal sanctuaries.

“He’s not touring the globe anymore,” Kelly admitted, “but he’s living. He’s laughing. He’s giving. He’s spending time with his grandchildren. Isn’t that what we should be celebrating?”

Fans have taken to social media to echo Kelly’s outrage and show their support. The hashtag #OzzyStrong began trending within hours of her post, with thousands sharing personal stories about how Ozzy’s music helped them through dark times.

Closing the Chapter on False Claims

In a final message to critics, Kelly didn’t mince words:

“You’re not going to bury my dad before his time. You can print your lies, but the truth will always be louder — and if you know anything about my dad, you know he’s the loudest man in the room.”

Indeed, the Prince of Darkness may walk a little slower now, but he’s still standing, still defying the odds — and with Kelly Osbourne guarding his legacy, he’s got one hell of a bodyguard.
