For the First Time Ever, My Art Is Up for Sale—And It’s for a Cause Very Close to My Heart
By Ozzy Osbourne
You lot know me as the Prince of Darkness, the bat-biting, dove-releasing, headbanging madman of rock and roll. I’ve screamed on stages all over the world, made more noise than most people do in ten lifetimes, and left a trail of eyeliner and chaos behind me. But here’s something you probably didn’t know:
I paint.
Yeah, I know. Not exactly what you’d expect from the guy who bit the head off a bat. But over the years, when things got rough—or even just when I needed a break—I’d pick up a brush, throw some paint on a canvas, and lose myself in the colours. It’s not something I ever really talked about, and I never thought I’d let any of it out into the world. It was just for me.
Until now.
For the first time ever, I’m letting go of five paintings—and they’re not just my paintings. They’re collaborations between me and some of the most fascinating artists I’ve ever met: chimpanzees.
No, I’m not off my rocker (well, maybe a little, but that’s nothing new). These incredible chimps live at a place called Save the Chimps, a sanctuary in Florida that rescues chimpanzees from labs, circuses, roadside zoos, and private ownership. These animals have been through hell—abused, abandoned, experimented on—and Save the Chimps gives them a second chance. A proper home. Safety. Freedom.
And believe it or not, some of them love to paint.
When I first heard about it, I couldn’t believe it either. But I saw it with my own eyes. These apes have real talent—big, wild brush strokes, wild instincts, total freedom. There’s no plan or precision, just raw, beautiful chaos. Sound familiar?
So I thought, why not? Let’s make some art together.
I’d start a canvas—lay down some texture, some shapes, some colour. Then one of the chimps would come in and add their own touch. Or sometimes they’d start it, and I’d come in after. No rules, no overthinking. Just two creatures creating something totally original. No two alike.
What came out of it is five abstract paintings that are as mad and magical as anything I’ve ever done. I’m proud of them—not just because they turned out great, but because they represent something bigger than me. These pieces are about connection. About healing. About using art to raise awareness—and money—for an important cause.
Each painting is named after one of my songs, a nod to where I came from. You’ll recognize the titles, trust me. I’ve signed each one, and there are only five in existence. That’s it. No prints, no reissues, no copies. Just these five originals, made by me and my chimp mates.
And now they’re up for auction through Omega Auctions to raise funds for Save the Chimps. Every penny from the sale goes directly to the sanctuary—to help care for these incredible animals, feed them, keep them safe, and give them the lives they deserve.
So if you’ve ever wanted a bit of Ozzy on your wall, now’s your chance. But this isn’t just some celebrity gimmick. This is real. This is personal. And it’s for a bloody good cause.
Here’s what you need to know:
- There are only five paintings available—each one a true one-off.
- Each is named after one of my songs—a little rock and roll woven into the canvas.
- Each one is signed by me, and you’ll get a certificate of authenticity too.
- They’re being auctioned exclusively through Omega Auctions: omegaauctions.co.uk
- The auction closes July 17—so get your bids in before it’s too late!
Look, I’ve done a lot of crazy stuff in my life. But this project means the world to me. Not just because I got to do something different, something creative—but because I got to help some truly amazing animals. These chimps have suffered. They were treated like test subjects, props, things. But they’re not. They’re living, feeling beings. They’ve got personalities, moods, even a cheeky sense of humour. One of them nicked my brush and flung paint across the enclosure like he was Jackson bloody Pollock. Brilliant.
So when you bid on one of these paintings, you’re not just buying art. You’re making a statement. You’re supporting a sanctuary that gives second chances to animals who were denied basic kindness for most of their lives.
And let’s be honest—you’ll have the most rock and roll piece of art on your wall. A painting by Ozzy Osbourne and a chimp. Can’t get more legendary than that.
To everyone at Save the Chimps, thank you for letting me be a part of your world. To the amazing ape artists—thank you for sharing your talent with me. And to everyone reading this: get yourself over to Omega Auctions and bid like hell. Let’s raise some real money for a real cause.
See you on the other side (of the auction).
Love always,
Ozzy
