Here’s why the Detroit Lions should select Darius Robinson with the 29th choice in the 2024 NFL draft.
While Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes has made some unexpected draft decisions, the players he has chosen in his three years in Detroit have been fairly consistent.
The Lions do not compromise on football character. According to Holmes, it is the ultimate distinguishing factor between good players and great ones. This mantra has caused most draft gurus to correctly look for “Dan Campbell guys” when connecting a draft prospect with Detroit. So, while Holmes has occasionally surprised with the position he’s targeting or how early (or late) he may select a potential, the player chosen has rarely surprised.
That brings us to the 2024 NFL Draft, where I feel there is one player that is so typical of a “Dan Campbell guy” that we don’t need to overthink the 29th overall decision.
Darius Robinson, a Missouri defensive end, is an ideal fit for the Detroit Lions and should be the 29th choice.
