The Green Bay Packers will enter the 2024 NFL Draft with three critical position needs. These positions would be offensive tackle, safety, and linebacker. The Packers are extremely likely to address all three of those positions in the first three rounds. The Packers have five draft picks in the first three rounds, giving them plenty of options to trade up if necessary.
That is precisely what is currently circulating in the NFL.
According to Draft Analyst Chad Forbes, the Green Bay Packers are considering a major trade in the 2024 NFL Draft to address a major need. The Seattle Seahawks currently hold the 16th pick and the Eagles, Packers, and Redskins are all discussing trade up scenarios with them.
The Packers now have 11 draft picks in this year’s draft and plan to use them to build on what they accomplished in 2023.
Who might the Packers consider with the 16th pick?
Several mock drafts place guys like these in the middle of the first round.
15. Indianapolis Colts: CB Cooper DeJean from Iowa.
16. Seattle Seahawks: C Jackson Powers-Johnson from Oregon.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars: CB Terrion Arnold, Alabama
18. Cincinnati Bengals: DI Jer’Zhan Newton from Illinois.
19. Los Angeles Rams: Edge. Laiatu Latu, UCLA.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers: OT Amarius Mims of Georgia
21. Miami Dolphins: OT JC Latham of Alabama
Cooper DeJean, Terrion Arnold, Amarius Mims, and JC Latham are the Packers’ standout players.
Any of those players would immediately address a need for the Packers, but it would be surprising if the Packers passed on an exceptional defensive back considering the sort of defense that new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley prefers to run.
