Prior to joining the Packers, Laine was the Bears’ director of football administration for seven seasons, serving as the team’s principal contract negotiator while also handling the salary cap, strategic planning, and CBA compliance.
Laine graduated from the University of New Orleans and received his MBA from Tulane before starting his NFL career as a football operations intern in 2005. Laine spent ten seasons with the Saints, six of which he served as salary cap analyst.

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky
Laine and Chad Brinker both worked for Packers VP/Director of Football Operations/Salary Cap Guru Russ Ball and have since moved on to key positions with other organizations. Brinker is the Titans’ president of football operations.
The Packers will undoubtedly need to fill this job in order to aid Russ Ball with the salary cap predicament.
