Jason and Travis Kelce dedicated a segment of their podcast, New Heights, to discussing the retirement of Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald. Former Philadelphia Eagle center Jason Kelce wanted to express his thoughts on how excellent Donald was, and as probably the best interior offensive line of his generation, his words should be considered as gospel.
“I have to set the record straight because I see a lot of people on social media listing all of Aaron’s quarterback sacks.” People [believe Donald] has never had a sack against the Eagles. Oh, the Eagles knew his number. Kelce stated, “We double-teamed him, triple-teamed him every game, okay.” He is the only defensive tackle we have ever faced whose whole game plan is based on preventing him from ruining the game. “The only one.”
Game Plan for Aaron Donald
He elaborated on the attention paid to Donald in an offense’s game plan.
Kelce went on to say that the only NFL players who have made the Pro Bowl in every season of their careers were Donald and Barry Sanders.
“Just an absolute bulldog with boundless energy, power, speed, and skill. The guy had everything on my thoughts. “He is the best defensive player.” Kelce lavished praise.
He refrained from declaring him the best of all time because he dislikes comparing generations, but he did remark Donald is the G.O.A.T. from his playing days.
Donald’s Los Angeles Rams Career in Numbers
In ten NFL seasons, Donald had 543 tackles, 111 sacks, 176 tackles for loss, and 24 forced fumbles. He is third in NFL history in tackles for loss and ranks 28th in official career sacks. Throughout his illustrious career, Donald was a 10-time Pro Bowler and eight-time First-Team All-Pro, as well as three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
