Wenyen Gabriel has reportedly joined a new team.
This season, the Memphis Grizzlies have been signing 10-day contracts on a regular basis, and another one is apparently on its way.
According to Michael Scotto of Hoopshype, the Memphis Grizzlies have signed former Lakers big man Wenyen Gabriel to a 10-day deal. Gabriel did not play with an NBA team this season, although he did play for the Wisconsin Herd. His most recent team was the LA Lakers.
Last season, in 68 games with the Lakers, Wenyen Gabriel averaged 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds on 60% shooting. Gabriel received far less action in the playoffs, averaging only 1.0 points in 3.7 minutes per game across 10 games.
when one should not anticipate Wenyen Gabriel to have a significant influence on the Memphis Grizzlies, he will undoubtedly add the hustle that the club requires when shorthanded. Despite the absence of several key players, the Grizzlies have found a way to compete and hustle in every game. This is made feasible by players such as Wenyen Gabirel who buy into the team mentality.
The Grizzlies are missing Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, Desmond Bane, and other key players, but GG Jackson and Jake LaRavia have emerged as strong additions. This team has done an excellent job of identifying diamonds in the rough, and hopefully will do so again with Wenyen Gabriel.
