Matt LaFleur, Green Bay Packers’ head coach, had an exceptionally successful 2023 season. After a rough start to the season, the Packers concluded with a 7-3 record in their final ten games. This includes a decisive Wild Card victory over the Dallas Cowboys and finishing just three points short of the Conference Championship.
Just as significant, the Packers have secured their quarterback position for the foreseeable future. Jordan Love won a contract extension, and the Packers are confident heading into the 2024 season.
However, the off-season is a very different species. It allows both athletes and coaches to unwind and pursue their interests. For LaFleur, that entails attending a Marquette basketball game with the opponent.

On Wednesday night, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was photographed at the Marquette-UConn college basketball game alongside Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus.
Many others speculated on what the two could have been discussing during the big matchup. Perhaps LaFleur quietly mentioned Green Bay’s season sweep last year. Or perhaps they talked about NFL combine hopefuls last week. As Big East basketball fans, they could be scouting two of the country’s top teams ahead of the NCAA Tournament.
During the first half, the Fiserv Forum scoreboard showed LaFleur and Eberflus. As the television switched between the two coaches, applause for LaFleur and boos for Eberflus erupted in the audience.
