The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offseason in 2024 has the potential to be quite exciting.
A new dawn, a new (winning?) season for the Steelers
Despite being easily eliminated from the playoffs by the Buffalo Bills, the Pittsburgh Steelers have a lot to be positive about in the 2024 season: they still have one of the best teams in the NFL, with just one noticeable weakness: quarterback.
In the midst of reports that the Steelers may have a new signal caller in town, the team is focusing on another critical offensive position: wide receiver.
Field Yates specifically mentions the situation of one of their starting receivers in 2024.
Why Did the Pittsburgh Steelers Release Allen Robinson?
After back-to-back subpar seasons for the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, and Pittsburgh Steelers, Robinson’s greatest years appear to be behind him at 30.
Even though he has a good background and had excellent years in both Jacksonville and Chicago, it is clear that the Steelers are not receiving the kind of performances they expected from a guy who was due to earn about $12 million against the salary limit in 2024.
Given that he failed to produce 300 receiving yards, this move makes a lot of sense for Pittsburgh, which already has George Pickens and Diontae Johnson as its top receiving combination, as well as Calvin Austin III, a developing speedster.
Let’s see if Allen Robinson finds a landing site and another chance to restore a career that once seemed on the verge of becoming renowned, especially since Robinson, at 30, may not be done just yet.
