Despite going 9-8 in 2023, many believe Green Bay is on the upswing. In a recent ESPN predictions piece for the 2024 season, three of their analysts predicted the Packers to make it to Super Bowl LIX, with one believing they will win it.

In a recent ESPN predictions article for the 2024 NFL season, expert Matt Bowen predicted the Packers would win Super Bowl LIX versus the Cincinnati Bengals. He wrote:
“Packers defeated Bengals. A healthy quarterback Joe Burrow will put the Bengals back in contention as one of the AFC’s best teams. The Packers, however, won the Super Bowl because to quarterback Jordan Love’s difference-making talent and a shift in defensive strategy under new coordinator Jeff Hafley.”

Green Bay’s loss against San Francisco in the divisional round was largely due to its aggressive defensive system. Hafley is considerably more combative and will transform the culture of defense.
It’s also worth noting that Love has progressed from a big question mark to being widely considered as a legitimate NFL quarterback. Bowen even describes him as a difference maker capable of leading his team to Green Bay’s first Lombardi Trophy in nearly fifteen years.

In addition to Bowen, two other NFL analysts at ESPN predicted that the Packers would go to the Super Bowl but lose to the Kansas City Chiefs.
One of them, Eric Moody, wrote:
“Mahomes is only 28 years old, so picture how lethal Kansas City’s offense could be if it adds more offensive playmakers this offseason. Meanwhile, Love and the Packers outperformed expectations, establishing themselves as real NFC title candidates.”
Love and his youthful pass catchers will have a year of experience by 2024, and the offense will only improve from there. Hafley should improve the defense, particularly in late-game scenarios. If both of these things happen, Green Bay has a legitimate shot at winning the NFC championship.
