Everton is still awaiting a ruling on their appeal against a 10-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability guidelines, and Sean Dyche has issued a warning.
Sean Dyche has warned the Premier League that the whole of football will be watching when they rule on Everton’s appeal against the 10-point deduction that threatens their top-flight survival.
Dyche anticipates a statement on the outcome of the Merseysiders’ appeal to overturn or lessen penalties for failing to meet Profit and Sustainability Regulations.
Everton manager admits he is unaware of a potential second Premier League charge for PSR, which may result in the club being penalized points again.
Dyche stated, “We’ve been given a very rough schedule and will most likely know within the next couple of weeks. It’s not only Everton FC or Evertonians. “I believe fans are wondering what’s going on.”Whatever the Premier League does, they must get on with it. Not because I am frustrated, but because everyone in football wants to know what’s going on. Fans of all clubs want some clarity on this.
“We don’t know about the second charge.” At the moment, we’re simply focusing on the attraction, what it will bring, and the actuality of it. Who knows what the appeal will result in – or the second situation?”
Everton have fallen into the relegation zone due to a seven-game losing streak and a points deduction. They host Crystal Palace on Monday night, knowing that a win would lift the atmosphere at Goodison and draw Londoners into the fight at the bottom of the table.
Roy Hodgson, the Palace manager, will miss the game after falling ill on Thursday. Dyche is full of affection and sympathy for the 76-year-old former England manager, but he admits he cannot imagine himself still playing at Hodgson’s age.
Dyche, 52, welcomes back midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure from injury and will serve a one-game ban for three yellow cards. He answered, “I certainly wish Roy well.” I messaged (Palace assistant) Ray Lewington, who told me Roy is fine at the moment.
“Roy is a fantastic guy who I respect and value immensely. Of course, his health is more important than the game, but we must look beyond it because it is a major concern for us. One thing is certain: I will not be managing at Roy’s age. I’ll be well out of it.”
