Sky Sports reporter describes what Tottenham fans did following Ben Davies’ last-minute miss against Wolves.
Tottenham squandered their opportunity to maintain any form of pressure on the clubs in and around the top four by losing to Wolves tonight.
Spurs were not at their best and were punished by two clinical goals from Gary O’Neil’s team, who were a constant threat on the counter-attack throughout the day.
Tottenham suffered a devastating defeat, demonstrating how terrible they can be when crucial players such as Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie are out from the starting lineup.
However, Tottenham had a fantastic opportunity to equalise in the closing minute of play when Ben Davies missed a beautiful header. The Welshman simply made a mistake and ruined the opportunity.
And Sky Sports reporter Charlotte Marsh recounted how Davies’ blunder prompted a huge evacuation at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“Oft!! That was a chance. Davies has less than a minute to play and must bury that. “It marks a stream of Spurs fans leaving, and as things stand, Spurs are dropping out of fourth place,” Marsh said.
Tottenham fans can’t be too unhappy
Tottenham failed to score for the first time this season as they pushed on against Wolves until they were defeated.
Wolves were fair value for the win, as Pedro Neto demonstrated why clubs such as Tottenham and Arsenal are interested in recruiting him.
In the end, it was a dismal day and a significant setback for Tottenham, as Aston Villa also won.
Ange Postecoglou has rarely seen his team lose at home, so it will be intriguing to watch how he reacts to this one.
