Jason Kelce confesses why he didn’t join brother Travis on the field for Super Bowl celebrations… and blames ‘casino smokers’ for his cough as he sounds VERY worse for wear on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast.
Jason Kelce explained why he did not join his brother Travis on the field following the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in Las Vegas on Sunday.
After a thrilling 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers, family and friends flooded the field to celebrate the Chiefs’ second consecutive championship. However, the older Kelce sibling said that he wanted Travis to have his moment.
‘The entire family was down there. ‘Mom, dad, Taylor [Swift],’ Jason stated on the New Heights podcast. I didn’t get to see you on the field.
‘I was trying to give you your space and stuff like that. There are cameras all over the place, and it seems strange trying to fit in.’
‘I love you, big guy; you know you wouldn’t have taken away from me,’ Travis responded.
Although he did not celebrate on the field at Allegiant Stadium, Jason thoroughly enjoyed the triumph in Las Vegas. During the Chiefs’ after-party, the Eagles star wore a Mexican wrestling mask that matched his Kansas City attire.
At the start of the show, Jason admitted how much fun he had in Sin City.
‘I’m not sure if you can notice, but my voice isn’t doing so well,’ he admitted. ‘A week in Vegas yelling and playing craps, followed by your brother winning the Super Bowl, takes a toll on you. The Chiefs’ famous Super Bowl win.
After explaining why he did not take the field postgame, Jason coughed profusely, prompting Travis to ask, ‘What the f*** you got going on?’
Jason answered by stating the type of environment that Las Vegas provides and emphasizing the prevalence of cigarette smoking in casinos.
“Dude, Vegas dude. I’ve been surrounded by cigarette smoke and yelling,” Jason explained. ‘I’m not smoking anything, but with all these casinos, it turns out you have to let smoking go. Because of all the people who are impulsive enough to continue smoking cigarettes all the time.
