Jordan Love Reveals Surprise Nuggets From Packers’ Win Over Cowboys
Jordan Love discussed Aaron Jones’ role in the Wild Card triumph over the Dallas Cowboys.
Jordan Love and Micah Parsons reunited on Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas for the first time since their playoff matchup. The Green Bay Packers faced the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium during Wild Card Weekend.
The Packers defeated the Cowboys 48-32, sending Dallas packing. Aaron Jones had a great effort in the game, rushing 21 times for 118 yards and three touchdowns in his home state of Texas. However, Jones had an impact on the game that went unreported by the broadcasters.
Love appeared on Parsons’ podcast “The Edge” and claimed Jones was improving his pass-blocking against the Penn State product.
Love said,”He (Jones) would feel you beat one of our offensive linemen and his instinct would just go chip you (Parsons) and help in protection.”
Parsons replied, “It was unbelievable.” Like, most of those inside rushes, I was like, “No way he’s supposed to do that.”
The 25-year-old quarterback then said, “No, he wasn’t, and that’s just the type of guy he is and where he is in the NFL. To understand how good a rusher you are and just be able to pick you up and assist. Give me some time back there; there were a couple of them if he hadn’t done it. I do not know.”
Green Bay did not allow a single sack in its victory over Dallas, but it did allow three quarterback hits. They helped limit Parsons to only two tackles and one quarterback hit. Love blasted up the Cowboys’ defense with 272 passing yards, three throwing touchdowns, and a QB rating of 157.2.
Jones was the ultimate X-factor in Green Bay’s victory, and it paid off for the Packers.
3 Potential Future Packers to Watch in Super Bowl 58
And what better way to accomplish this than to add some players with Super Bowl experience?
The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers have made it to the championship game for a reason. They have a lot of skill, but in today’s NFL, it’s impossible to maintain a full elite group together for long. They will lose some key players through free agency or cap cuts.
1. Tashuan Gipson, safety, San Francisco 49ers.
One of the Packers’ most pressing needs this season is safety, and having a senior presence on defense is ideal. Middle linebackers receive all the attention for being the defense’s “quarterback,” but in today’s NFL, that can often be a safety.

He has excelled in coverage, allowing only a 38.9 passer rating when targeted, and he actually ranks higher as a run defender (79.5) than in coverage (73.5). We saw similar results in 2022, when he allowed a 51.5 passer rating and earned an 89.5 run defense grade.
Gipson will not be an expensive addition given his age, and he would be an excellent addition to the defense.
