Steelers fire coach Frisman Jackson.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have replaced their wide receivers coach.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania — The Pittsburgh Steelers are starting to restructure their offensive coaching staff by parting ways with wide receivers coach Frisman Jackson.
Jackson has spent the last two seasons with the team, where he has helped develop wide receivers Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, and Calvin Austin. According to reports, the organization will now try to replace Jackson this offseason, having already scheduled an interview with New York Jets wide receivers coach Zach Azzani.
It is unknown what other moves will occur on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan and running backs coach Eddie Faulkner could be the Steelers’ next hires as they begin to put Smith’s new staff together. After the team fired Matt Canada, both served as interim offensive coordinators.
Pat Meyer, the offensive line coach, is anticipated to remain with the squad in 2024.
According to Dulac, the team is not expected to make any changes to its defensive staff other than removing assistant defensive backs coach Gerald Alexander.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are devoting extra time to Oregon’s top center ahead of the NFL draft.

Powers-Johnson told reporters that he has met with the team twice throughout the practice week. He described the first one as “saying hello,” while the second, set for Wednesday night, was expected to be a formal meeting.
“I talked to Coach Tomlin briefly yesterday,” Johnson-Powers stated. “I just introduced myself and said hi. I did an interview with them around two days ago. I believe I have an interview with them tonight as well.
All Steelers’ Throughout the week, Nick Martin stated that Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was attentively watching the offensive and defensive linemen in practice. He occasionally poked his head in to say something to players and spent some time talking with Powers-Johnson during drills.
The Oregon center is predicted to be a first-round choice in the 2024 NFL Draft and might be around the 20th pick, which the Steelers currently possess. With Mason Cole nearing the final year of his contract, Pittsburgh may consider acquiring a first-round tackle in tandem with Powers-Johnson.
