NFL executive reveals trade target that Green Bay Packers must pursue.
The Green Bay Packers were one of the NFL’s most pleasant shocks this season, and they now appear to be real contenders into 2024.
However, there is little doubt that the Packers need to fix some holes. One such gap is on their offensive line, specifically at left tackle.
Green Bay will most likely release David Bakhtiari this offseason owing to a string of injuries over the last few years. Since 2021, he has appeared in 13 games and has not played a full season since 2019.
A former NFL executive tells the NFL Analysis Network that replacing Bakhtiari should be the Packers’ top goal this offseason, and he sees a potential target.
“There are a few needs that the Packers need to address, but protecting Jordan Love should be at the top of their list,” a former executive said. “The Broncos are going to be open for business and I think Garett Bolles is a must-target piece for Green Bay.”
Bolles, who attended the University of Utah, was taken by Denver with the 20th overall choice in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Bolles has never made a Pro Bowl, but he has been a steady solid presence on the Broncos’ offensive line, earning Second-Team All-Pro honors in 2020.
The 31-year-old has one year left on his contract and is set to make $16 million next season, so Denver could attempt to trade him in the coming months.
If the Broncos decide to trade Bolles, the Packers would be a good fit considering their current need at his position.
