WXYZ (DETROIT) — This is the first glimpse of what the organizers want to see when the NFL Draft arrives in Detroit later this year.
Visit Detroit and the Detroit Sports Commission have released images showing the Draft’s footprint, which starts at the Monroe Street Midway and goes through Campus Martius Park before heading down Woodward to Hart Plaza.”Excitement is building for the 2024 NFL Draft presented by Bud Light in Detroit, which is just 77 days away,” stated Claude Molinari, President and CEO of Visit Detroit, in a news release. “Fans locally and across the country now have a first look at how the iconic streets of Detroit will provide a remarkable stage for the NFL with the release of the Draft renderings today.”
Additionally, renderings of the enormous stage that will be erected on the Monroe Midway have been made public.
According to officials, the thoughtful design of the Draft staging and viewing area maximizes the number of public viewing possibilities while giving fans the best possible access to all that downtown has to offer in terms of dining options, public areas, and entertainment venues.
The public can watch the Draft outside of the main footprint area in and around Campus Martius Park, as well as at the free NFL Draft Experience at Hart Plaza, which is next to the Detroit Riverwalk, and along the South Woodward Corridor. As the event draws closer, the NFL will offer more details about the viewing and staging sites as planning is still being finalized.
