Everton manager Sean Dyche must be “savvier” in his match against Manchester City, according to journalist Alex Keble.
The Toffees will face City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday (10 February), after losing 3-1 at Goodison Park at the end of December.
Keble stated that the Merseyside club may still offer a threat to Pep Guardiola and his team, particularly on the counterattack.
“Looking at their fixtures up until the international break, Everton, Chelsea, and AFC Bournemouth are all capable of counter-attacking sharply against Man City’s high line,” Keble wrote on the official Premier League website on February 7.
“Manchester City drew 4-4 at Stamford Bridge in November, and another end-to-end game is possible, but Everton lost 3-1 and Bournemouth 6-1 in the opposite matchups. Sean Dyche and Andoni Iraola will have to be more savvy this month.
“There is certainly some danger there, but more importantly Man City travel to Anfield on 10 March before hosting Arsenal after the international break.”
Everton faces a huge game.
It is a huge encounter for both Everton and Manchester City, as their Premier League campaigns have been very different so far.
The former is struggling, with the Toffees presently 18th in the table, having won only eight of their 23 matches.
Meanwhile, the latter are in second position, having won 15 of their 22 matches, behind league leaders Liverpool by only two points.
The Toffees certainly put up a fight in the opposite fixture at Goodison Park over the holidays, with the home side even going ahead 1-0 through Jack Harrison.
However, the visitors showed all of their class to turn things around, with Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, and Bernardo Silva all on target.
City are confident going into the game after beating Brentford 3-1 on Monday (5 February), but the Toffees should also be upbeat after drawing 2-2 with Tottenham two days earlier.
