Three elite players were about to enter their final season under team control when the Milwaukee Brewers started this off-season. Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff, and Willy Adames were those individuals. It seems that general manager Matt Arnold has placed Adames on the trade block following his decision to not tender Woodruff in November and his trade of Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles.
The Milwaukee Brewers have made Willy Adames available through trade.
“The Milwaukee Brewers are letting teams know that shortstop Willy Adames is available now,” according to a letter from Bob Nightengale. Following the Burnes trade, Matt Arnold made some remarks of his own in which he declared himself to be “more open” to the idea of dealing Adames.
These transactions can close rapidly in certain situations or take a while in others. Of course, I’m up for additional discussions. At this stage of the offseason, I would most definitely not end any conversations.

It is very likely that the Brewers will trade Adames at some time. Milwaukee does have a couple defensively sound options that could fit in if and when that happens. Both Joey Ortiz and Brice Turang are outstanding defenders, but they still have a lot to learn about how to have an offensive influence on games at the major league level.
One of the game’s best power hitting shortstops, Adames plays a prime position and is dependable in the field. A return akin to the Burnes trade package would not be out of the question, despite the fact that he is only under control through the 2024 season.
