Everton defender Seamus Coleman may be picked to the starting lineup against Manchester City, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
Despite his recent return to full health following a hamstring injury, the injury expert believes he is able to start and possibly play 60 minutes in the game.
On Saturday, February 3, the Republic of Ireland international came off the bench against Tottenham to replace the injured Ben Godfrey.
In an exclusive interview with Goodison News, Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, stated of Coleman:
“Sounds like he was out with a Grade 1 hamstring strain after returning to full fitness in January from another ailment.
“He recently returned to training and is now playing senior games.
“While he still might not be at a 100%, he could still be given 60 minutes or so from the start.”
Coleman’s leadership is essential against Manchester City.
Coleman may not be the same player he was in his prime, but he remains an important presence both on and off the field.
Sean Dyche is a manager who values structure above everything else, and he is aware that the team appears more balanced with the Republic of Internationals in the squad.
It is unclear whether he will start versus City, as it will be a difficult match for him.
In other Everton news, the club’s January transfer contract for an in-form player would have featured a £7 million buy option.
