Jordan Love, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, surprised many people last season. He helped Green Bay finish 9-8 and get to the NFC Divisional Round, where they lost 24-21 to the San Francisco 49ers.
Love concluded the season with 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also carried for 247 yards on 50 carries and four touchdowns, averaging 4.9 yards per carry.
During the playoffs, he threw for 466 yards, completed 67.3% of his attempts, and had five touchdowns and two interceptions. Love appears to be the long-term solution for the Green Bay Packers franchise. Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers have previously won MVP awards with the team. Can Jordan Love do the same?
ESPN’s Damien Woody believes Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love may win MVP as early as next season.
It is never too early to speculate on who will win the NFL MVP for the 2024 season. Quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens is expected to win his second NFL MVP award this season. However, Damien Woody stated that Love may be the MVP in 2024, saying:
“If there’s a guy that I’m putting money on for early MVP next year, he’s the guy.”
This appears to be a brave move, but it isn’t. Love was one of the passing touchdown leaders this season, and he is only getting his feet wet as a starting quarterback in the NFL. He will have an abundance of weaponry to work with.
His receivers will include Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks. Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft are also reliable tight ends for Love in passing situations. Love will not be ranked high in the MVP betting odds next season alongside Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow, but he cannot be overlooked in this situation.
Woody is not mistaken in his prognosis. There was a lot of concern last summer when they replaced Aaron Rodgers with Love. That isn’t the case this time.
