Kenny Pickett is not a franchise quarterback, and the Pittsburgh Steelers would be wasting a lot of time by giving him multiple chances to be the starter. There is nothing to hang your hat on with Kenny Pickett as a franchise quarterback. Pickett has thrown 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 25 NFL games over the past two seasons.
That’s not going to cut it. I believe the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him because he played collegiate football at Pitt. Going into 2024, the Steelers appear to be one quarterback away from posing a genuine danger. Winning ten games and making the playoffs with Pickett, Mason Rudolph, and Mitchell Trubisky at quarterback is quite an accomplishment.
Drafting a future franchise quarterback would be extremely beneficial to this franchise. Will they locate Kenny Pickett’s replacement in the 2024 NFL Mock Draft?
Pittsburgh Steelers Mock Draft: End the Kenny Pickett Era (20th). Overall: Bo Nix, Quarterback, Oregon
Having Oregon’s Bo Nix fall into their laps with the 20th overall choice is incredible. The Steelers pass at 20 and choose the prolific passer, who has a plethora of appealing NFL attributes. Nix is a little older, turning 24 in February, but he can accomplish just about anything. He has an excellent arm, is accurate and deliberate in the pocket, and can make plays with his legs.
