Jaire Alexander, a Green Bay Packers defensive back, had a wild 2023 NFL season. Among his lowlights from that season was being suspended for a game for conduct detrimental to the squad. That was a big choice for the Packers since they needed all hands on deck for a must-win game against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach After the controversial suspension, Matt LaFleur opens up about his observations of Jaire Alexander.
Alexander might possibly have used the suspension to exacerbate his feelings of hatred toward head coach Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers. Fortunately for the Packers, it did not reach that stage. Alexander even shown maturity by returning to work with the proper attitude following the conclusion of his suspension. LaFleur was impressed with Alexander’s behavior following the incident (h/t Packers Wire).
“I thought he responded, and he did an outstanding job,” LaFleur stated. “Whether in football or in life, there are times when you go through adversity and come out stronger. I think Ja could sit here and tell you that, as difficult as it was for everyone here, I believe our level of communication will be lot clearer and constant. I believe there was a lot of good that came from that.”
After defeating the Vikings, the Packers reintroduced Alexander into the lineup, and he went on to contribute significantly to Green Bay’s defense for the remainder of the season.
Alexander is a costly asset for the Green Bay Packers, thus he is held to high standards. The Packers require him to not just be available at all times, but also to perform at a high level, which he will strive to achieve in 2024. Alexander inked a hefty four-year, $84 million agreement with the Packers in 2022.
