Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson did something this weekend the NFL hasn’t seen since the Colin Kaepernick era. Jackson proved his playoffs skeptics wrong in the Ravens’ 34-10 blowout over the Houston Texans in the Divisional Round.
Lamar Jackson was impressive on Saturday
Jackson won his second playoff game and his first since the 2020 season. His play was spectacular in the Ravens’ win. He went 16/22 passing for 152 yards and two touchdowns. He added another 100 yards on the ground and scored two rushing touchdowns.
Jackson’s performance placed him in an elite category for the playoffs.
Jackson joined Colin Kaepernick in this elite category
According to Field Yates with ESPN, Jackson became the second player in the Super Bowl era to record two touchdown passes, two rushing touchdowns, and 100 rushing yards in a playoff game. Colin Kaepernick is the only other NFL quarterback to reach those stats, and the came in 2013 with the San Francisco 49ers.
The Baltimore Ravens have a big game this weekend
Jackson will look to continue his hot streak in the AFC Championship when the Kansas City Chiefs head to Baltimore on Sunday. Jackson could improve to a .500 record in the postseason with a win over the Chiefs.
