Michael Beale was brutally booed off by Sunderland fans after defeat to Hull City as he faces calls for his sacking.
The former Rangers manager only recently joined the Black Cats after he was binned at Ibrox but has managed just two wins in eight fixtures and five defeats in the same timeframe. This evening’s defeat – at home to the Tigers – was the final straw already for some punters who took to social media to blast the Englishman’s tenure.
Some accused the ex-Gers coach of moving Sunderland back the way from a team playing good football to one devoid of ideas while others pointed to the fact that there were “sacked in the morning” chants from the stands.
One blasted: “Get Michael Beale out of this football club. What an utterly awful appointment. Sack him. Sack him now and admit you got it wrong. Pathetic.”
Another added: “Will Michael Beale outlast the lettuce?” as one commented: “Michael Beale has to go. Nothing can defend that performance.”
A fourth wrote: “Never seen a more stinking appointment at Sunderland than Michael Beale. Absolutely clueless from start to finish. Just f***ing stinks of Phil Parkinson man, get rid of him asap.”
